I think I read on the kmail mailing lsit or on kde-pim that someone is 
working on sharing code between KMail and KNode, so maybe most of the 
work has been in a different CVS branch.

Additonally I am pretty sure the developers are working on Kontact 
embedding as well.

Anyway, its always good to see people are concerned about the progress of 
their favorite apps :)
