Configuring KBiff

I can't get KBiff to respond to the presence of mail in my inbox.  I'm
using KMail as my client.  On the Mailbox tab of KBiff Setup, I
specified a protocol of maildir and a mailbox of ~/Mail/inbox/cur. 
There are 3 files in the directory now corresponding to the 3 messages
in my inbox.  KBiff displays an empty inbox.
