KDE is much slower than before

Hi all!

I have the following problem with 3.1:
Before my OS downgrade (when KDE was fast as hell) I backed up my home 
directory. I restored it, and now, every time I start KDE it is painfully 
slow.

I suspect it has something to do with KDE files left over in my home 
directory. Which files can I delete?
Or is this a known OS specific problem (downgraded FreeBSD 5.0 to 4.8)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
