KWord not downloading fonts to printer

I'm using KWord 1.2 RC1, RH8.0, KDE 3.1.1
I'm using CUPS for printing with the PXLMono driver for my HP DeskJet 2100 
printer.
I selected "Embed Fonts.." in the KWord Print configuration.
It isn't doing so.
This used to work with RH7.3's KWord and CUPS distribution, though I don't 
remember if I was using PXLMono driver for the printer.

Any ideas on how to get this to work?
