Konqueror cannot write to samba shares, or can it?

If you have a look in Controlcenter/Information/Protocols, smb docu says:
"...Currently the slave is read-only, i.e. you are not able to write to remote 
shares. The current smb ioslave also doesn't provide you with a list of 
running hosts. You should use the lan or rlan ioslaves to get a network 
neighborhood. "

This is KDE 3.0.3

So ?
