Konquerer freezes when network not connected

Ok, but the device with that IP is up when you are using it disconnected, 
isn't it?

I mean like hostname -> 123.123.123.123 -> eth0 and eth0 is up and 
running.

If not you could try to put hostname as an alias for 127.0.0.1 instead.
