kstart with --skiptaskbar makes -geometry options of gkrellm useless

Hi,

I'm trying to locate the problem of $subject with KDE 3.0.4, but failed to
even get some debugging output onto the console.

I tried this in kdebase/kstart/kstart.cpp:

int main( int argc, char *argv[] )
{
  kndDebug() << "argc: " << argc << endl;

with kndDebug, kdDebug, kdWarning, kdError, patched Makefile to -DDEBUG,
checked ~/.xsession-errors all with no luck.
Am I stupid?

Where does this and the output of the executed process go?

The problem:
When using --skiptaskbar with kstart for gkrellm, it makes gkrellm somehow
ignoring it's -g option, but gets positioned by the window manager policy.
As long, as I omit --skiptaskbar, positioning is fine, but with the immanent
problems (gets focus on Alt-TAB, clutters taskbar)

While I saw a few messages with a subject similar to this one, it appears
to not be solved so far, or am I wrong again?

TIA,
Hans-Peter
