Subject: [kde] logitech mouseman wheel scroll?

i've got a logitech mouseman wheel and i just can't figure out how to get
the
scroll to work. setting up XF86Config to see it as a plain two-button ps2
mouse seems to work, but only as a two-button mouse. the scroll doesn't
work
and pressing either the thumb button or the scroller acts as a middle-button
function.

so after reading README.mouse, i did this to my XF86Config file:

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Mouse0"
        Driver "mouse"
        Option "Protocol" "MouseManPlusPS/2"
        Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
        Option "Buttons" "6"
        Option "ZAxisMapping" "5 6"
EndSection

so now the "paste" function doesn't work on any button! and i still have no
scroll. [sigh.... so tired]

ideally, i'd like to make it so that the scroll scrolls, and the thumb
button
can be mapped to something or at least act as "paste". does kde have some
special magic going on that isn't covered in XF86Config? i was surfing and
found a few pages refering to something call IM[something] that was a
separate program that let the scroll work in kde... but that was in
reference to kde 1.1... not exactly current.

i've been working on this for about a day now and have produced nothing
except
a now moderate understanding of the XF86Config file... any help would be
really great.

thanks
