Have you tried:
	Option	"Protocol" "imps/2"

That's what I use with two different Logitech wheel mice.  You'll only get 
three effective buttons, (any extras will do the same as the wheel button), 
and you'll need to use ZAxisMapping "4 5", not "5 6"
