ImageMagick

Hi
Recently loaded ManLinux 9.0 rel 2.4.19-16mdk i686 using KDE 3.0.3
I have a problem with ImageMagick. (I have noticed I cant max the box 
dragging a corner)
If i right click on an image in Home directory and open with> 
ImageMagick I can view image.
However, if I try multimedia>graphics>ImageMagick it times out on the panel
All help greatly appreciated
Please, keep it simple for a recent convert
