jscript is different from javascript
there ARE however various javascript extensions that micros~1 has added to the 
"standard".  it's common for other browsers to not adopt these extensions.  
(too bad too, some of them are pretty cool).

my advice:
stay the hell away from javascript, it breaks things.  and often doesn't 
supply anything that couldn't be done with a little common sense on behalf of 
the enduser and the developer (ie. flash detection never does work right.  
just put up a splash with "flash" and "noflash" options).
