KDE version of OpenOffice?

There is an example of the sort of thing that you have been suggesting.

The normal version of the LyX graphical front-end to LaTeX is compiled using
the xforms package. For those who cannot use this package for whatever
reason, there is a version compiled using the Qt libraries that KDE uses.

The second version is called KlyX.
