Problem with CVS-HEAD kdelibs

You are correct, that is weird.

Are you sure you don't have '1.6' somewhere on your system?

What could possibly cause Make to do this????

There is nothing in the make file that I have that would do this.  Have
you tried being more conservative and using: "KDE_3_0_BRANCH"?
