kmail and spamassassin

Hi All,
This is an interesting program, & I have installed it and checked the
filter,
Firing up kmail from a konsole, I can see the messages are piped through
spamassassin, but what should happen to the message if it contains the
"banned words?" I sent a message (to myself) with one of the phrases in the
body as a test but I don't know if anything worked?
I have made no alterations to the filter or the .spamassassin/user_prefs
file.
I am connecting to my mail using IMAP, would this make any difference?
Thanks
Greg
