kdesud problems

If  i run a configuration module from within control center as root, i can 
login in and use that module as root. But when i select this directly from 
the menu, i login and then nothing happens.

The permissions of kdesud are '2755 root.nogroup'.
Can anyone tell me what i've got to do to get it to work?
