I take this is a developer question.
You should subscribe to kde-devel for that.
I also recommend that you be a bit more explicit on what you want to achieve.

Do you want to use KSystemTray just for raising/hiding you application or do 
you also need to extend the contex menu.

In the first case you just create an instance of KSystemTray with your 
mainwindow as the parent, set your icon, and call its show() method which 
will then automatically dock it.

Any left click on the icon will then hide/show your main window.
