Hi

I'm testing mandrake 8.0 for my company

i had the same problem with the euro symbol (even in kword, gnumeric, abiwork etc etc ), still looking 4 solution

i can tell you :
DONT install the operating sistem from the boot CD tpo solve your crash problem

you have problem with a application :

use software manager (it's better that windows system) to remove and reinstall software

if you're in panic,

start your system from CD and choose "upgrade" .... NOT INSTALL (in italian aggiorna , non installa)

this will solve lot's of your problem with the operating system , without loosing your data

I hope it's clear enough
ciao
Augusto
