ctrl-s big piss off in konsole

i've gotten used to using both vi and other gui editors and i accidentally
hit "ctrl-s" when using vi in konsole...  and now that shell is not
responding.  can i salvage my vi session? or do i have to close konsole (and
all the other shells i have open in it)?
