Linked app launching from icons (Newbie like)

A lot of my desktop icons in my Suse 8.0 system are screwed up.  For example, 
when clicking my icon for my W$ drive C, it tries to open it with Acrobat 
Reader, not Konq.  This applies to any drive on  the desktop, and was not the 
way it was origionally.

How do I change to link to make them use Konq?  I tried the right click,>open 
with> and entered konq in the  dialog box, and click remember this, but it 
doesn't stay.

Any ideas?  This is a new area for me.
