KDE3.1rc5: Funny behaviour with Ctrl-V

I am currently trying out KDE 3.1rc5. As I commonly work in emacs, I
often use Ctrl-V to page down, or Ctrl-X Ctrl-V to visit a file.
Whenever I hit Ctrl-V, a small window appears in the top left of my
screen that says "Ctrl+V,...". In order to page down, or visit a
file, I have to either hit Ctrl-V again, or return, to dismiss this
window.
Do you know what program is generating this? Why? How do I get rid
of this annoying behaviour?
Chris
