100% CPU - kdeinit / klauncher

I recently installed KDE3 under FreeBSD.

>From time to time, my CPU usage shoots up to 100% and then when I do "top" to
see who is using the CPU so much, it shows something like this:

PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPU CPU COMMAND
 4926 bts 55 0 18180K 9972K RUN 456:51 93.41% 93.41% kdeinit
 1811 bts 10 0 2332K 1568K nanslp 6:24 2.00% 2.00% xosview
 1685 bts 2 0 86144K 82832K select 30:27 0.00% 0.00% XFree86

(All the rest of the processes show as 0.00%, too.)

At least this time, when I occured to me to try it, it turned out that process
4926 was a "klauncher" process.

Is there anything I can do to prevent it from getting so greedy? Should I
report this as a bug? I'm never quite sure of precisely what the cause is,
which makes it awkward to report as a bug . . .
