No desktop icons = no background refresh

Hi,
I have my desktop setup to choose a random wallpaper every 60 seconds, under
kde 3.0, i've found that turning off "Enable Icons on Desktop" causes the
desktop to not be refreshed when a new background is loaded - only portions
underneath windows are refreshed when a window moves or disappears.
I don't know if this was the case under 2.2.2, becuase I never noticed if I
could disable icons on the desktop.

Wait: Did you know that there's a direct correlation between the decline of
Spirograph and the rise in gang activity? Think about it.
