The first thing Yu sd mention, is which distribution of linux You use. I guess
Yr linux is not from scratch (vanilla), otherwise You wd be more experienced.
In the kde.org web, Yu got precompiled rpm's for various distributions which
include all the files Yu need.
For example, in SuSE, just rin rpm -Uhv --nodeps *.rpm from the directory where
Yu downloaded the stuff.
Thereafter, run SuSEconfig (eventually save fstab to fstab.ok before so Yu can
reestablish it if SuSEconfig modifies it too much)
