Wallpaper images not displaying

I just found out I have the same problem. (I just did not need wallpaper, so I 
did not notice earlier :-))

This seems to be QT related, but I can't really confirm. Anyway, I have QT 
compiled from qt-copy with options recommended in README.qt-copy file.

Anyona has any idea what is wrong?
