Using maildir format in KMail

Hello everyone,
  I just got my KDE 3 desktop going nicely, and I was thinking it might be
wise to switch to the nifty maildir format in KMail. The problem is that I
already have a lot of mail I want to keep that is in mbox format. Is there an
easy way to convert mbox mailboxes to maildir directories?
