kde3 final ... won't start ...

The usual
could not connect to /home/gerhard/.DCop ....
make sure dcopserver is running
(which it is not)

I added PATH=/opt/kde3/bin:$PATH at the start of /usr/X11/bin/kde3

I added a which dcopserver_shutdown to the kde3 startup script, and that
shows clearly that it
s trying to start the kde3 dcopserver_shutdown
(/opt/kde3/bin/dcopserver_shutdown)
Also, when I switch back to kde3-rc3 everything works again.

I was sure what I was doing.
I did rpm -Uvh *rpm before to see what was missing
