Bug ID: 512978
Summary: Would like to donate but the requirements are too
strict.
Classification: Websites
Product: www.kde.org
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: kde-www at kde.org
Reporter: ciprian.m.vizitiu at gmail.com
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
I would really like to donate via debit card but the payment processor settings
on your site are way too strict. Apart from my credit card details they insist
on getting my email address, my phone number and my home address. Insult to
injury: although the request comes from an EU IP address there's a complete
disregard for GDPR issues.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Follow the Plasma pop-up link for donation
https://kde.org/donate/?app=plasma-donation-request-notification
2. Click on "Donate" from the "One-time donations" panel
3. On "Donate to K Desktop Environment e.V. " Paypal page click on "Donate with
Debit or Credit Card"
4. In the next page fill in "Write a note (Optional)" "Card number" "Expires"
"Security code" "Given name" "Last name"
5. Click "Agree & Donate Now"
OBSERVED RESULT
Paypal processor page insists (by changing border colors) that
Address line 1
Mailing address is required.
City
City is required.
Phone number
Phone number is required.
Email
Email is required.
EXPECTED RESULT
Payment processor should have allowed me to pay the same way I pay other goods
which is without making other than necessary fields a requirement.
Payment processor should have enabled a form where I should have been able to
chose how my personal data is processed.
