It more or less is used at least for the release announcements for feature
releases; the promo team and I mine it for information to write the release
announcements. We can't re-use the text in the posts directly since the wording
wouldn't fit a glossy release announcement.

I see what you mean about the bug-fix releases though. These are currently
auto-generated from the commit messages. We could definitely do a better job
there by doing it by hand, but to be honest I think it would be too much work.
Plasma has 18 of these per year; there likely just aren't resources to do that.

What I think we could do is make better use of git commit tags (like FEATURE
and CHANGELOG) to make the auto-generated text in the bug-fix releases better.

Someone would need to champion that initiative. Maybe you? :D
