Neon's current website
SUMMARY
I wanted to download KDE Neon stable and accessed neon.kde.org, but in the main
page the only call-to-action refers to a page talking about how to upgrade for
existing users. It says: "Now rebased on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, upgrade now."
The download link is "hidden" in the header. I believe the website should have
a very visible button in the center of the page (where there's the image with
the lake) with a link for the download page. That way visitors could easily be
redirected to download Neon instead of searching for the download link in the
header.
Maybe it could have two big buttons with attention grabbing colors. One with
"Download Now" and another with "Upgrade from 18.04", so it would be like:
Introducing KDE neon
The latest and greatest of KDE community software packaged on a rock-solid
base.
[Download Now] or [Upgrade from 18.04]
Why I think this is important:
Usually websites want users to perform an expected action. A way to make that
happen is by what is called a "call-to-action". That can be a buttton or a link
that leads the user to perform the desired action. It's a simple but effective
way to make more people be compelled to give KDE Neon a try.
