So, Sebastian asked me to ask on this list; I'm not subscribed, so please cc 
me any answer. Will all older information still be available, or will this be 
another case of collective amnesia, like we've had twice with the KOffice 
website?

I don't know how the site data is stored, but probably you should ask this on 
the kde-www list. (This list was only in CC: for coverage reasons, you may 
have missed that.)
