I don't remember ever discussing this.

BTW we are linking to the following nof free services from the frontpage:
 * paypal
 * opendesktop.org
 * blogspot

And in much more prominent spaces than 3 small "buttons" for Fb/Twitter/G+ in 
a corner of the page.
