open ID authentication via google failing on userbase

This morning I get "Error in parsing the OpenID auth request." when I 
attempt to authenticate at 
https://userbase.kde.org/index.php?title=Special:OpenIDLogin&returnto=KDE_UserBase_Wiki:About

The "learn more" link on the error page takes me to

http://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/OpenID

which talks about deprecation of some methods of using the google Open ID.

So I dunno if this is the issue.

But bottom line - I can't authenticate at the moment.
