Apologies, some investigation showed it is indeed a bug, as "en" as locale was 
not supported by the datepicker, only "en_GB", "en_AU" and "en_NZ". If it 
fails it will pick the last language in the list, and that is chinese.
Should be fixed now. Thanks to Lugi Toscano for investigating.
