Summary: Visually highlight applications that are part of SC
Product: www.kde.org
Version: unspecified
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kde-www at kde.org
ReportedBy: luigi.toscano at tiscali.it
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
People browsing subsections of the "Application" section see a big list of
applications, where several programs can potentially belong to the same
category (i.e. "media player", "image viewer") or to similar categories. That
can be confusing, and potentially reiterate the old (wrong) idea that "KDE
contains many overlapping applications".
Moreover, what would be the point of having SC, if a user can't distinguish
applications that are part of SC on the project's website?
Separating the list of application (in KDE SC, not in KDE SC) is probably not
the right solution. Therefore, I propose to give a visual hint that an
application is part of KDE SC (a special logo,
an "emblem" over the icon, or a special label...).
The same visual hint could be put also on the application page.
