Summary: Breaking it down by component!
           Product: www.kde.org
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Mandrake RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: webmaster at kde.org
        ReportedBy: WinterWolf at myway.com

Version: 3.1.2 (using KDE KDE 3.1.2)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
OS: Linux

I think that on KDE's Bug Tracking Home, in the Bug Hunting Tools section there should also be three more options in addition to "The most wanted features" and "The most frequently reported bugs" and "The most hated bugs". These options would be "The most wanted features by component" and "The most frequently reported bugs by component" and "The most hated bugs by component".

Why is this necessary? Simply because many of the components have far fewer or far more wanted features or bugs than others. If there is lets say ony five wanted feature in component x but 400 in component y than people will use all 20 votes for the features in component x because there is no need to distribute the votes. For component y, people would hav so many wanted features that they would need to distribute poitns in order to vote for all the ones they really want and so mso will want to vote for more than five bugs in component y. Therefore, even if a feature in component y is much more desired it could have lower votes.

Breaking it down into components would help developers focus on the component they work on and at the same time give a more realistic indication of what the most wanted features are.
