IMAP folder instructions don't work

http://www.kde.org/mailinglists/ includes instructions for accessing the
mailing lists via IMAP (near the top of the page).  I couldn't get them
to work; it always told me I had a bad username/password combination.

I never got to the point where I could pick a folder, but I entered
news.uslinuxtraining.com as the server with anonymous as my user name. 
It tried both "ross at biostat.ucsf.edu" and"anonymous" as passwords.

Using Evolution 1.2.4 on Solaris 2.8.
