Consistency is good, but is not a substitute for research and reason.

That's also pretty much an insult to everyone who's done real usability 
work in KDE, improving things that were hard to use.  Are you suggesting 
that their research and efforts were counterproductive, because they 
caused differences from the previous behavior?
