Consolidation of kde domains to the main server? (was: Re: Structure of our websites (in CVS + on the servers))

*moved to kde-www as it belongs here and cc'd to the sysadmin's as they know best about the server stuff*

Duncan's point is a valid one, not just from a logistics point of view of moving all the various sites from the different physical servers to the main kde.org server but also in regards to system load ie. can the server that houses kde.org cope with all the sites that are currently housed elsewhere?

Also if we do this are we utilising out server resources to the fullest? What else is hosted on KTown other than developer, enterprise, printing and usability? Are we still going to be able to make use of KTown if all those get moved to the kde.org server?

Maybe this is an opportunity to better re-organise our use of server resources as we wil be indirectly doing that anyway if this proposal goes ahead, that is if such a re-organisation is even required.

Thoughts?

Well, *if* the KDE sites all go to the same style, and *if* noatun.kde.org
site doesn't go along, then maybe noatun.kde.org should be renamed to
noatun.derkarl.org.

Nothing is decided yet, though, so now is not the time to dig in and get
hostile.
