build issue with Tellico and msvc

Oh wow, thanks for that pointer to Godbolt. I hadn't seen that before. Now
I've already spent way too much time on there, playing with various
settings. In any case, I think I would reduce it differently

which seems to compile on everything. So I'm still puzzled.
