Maybe. Essentially we need to find a new way of working with the KDE
repository. The implied solution that is expected to work from the Linux
perspective is that all code should be reviewed and if it works, be
merged into master. Of course this means that code will only be tested
on the platforms where the review happens - which effectively means
Linux. This means that we either must review each and every patch -
which is unrealistic or that we will have to get our fixes in from time
using the normal way of review requests - which will slow down our work
and bind our resources. So instead, it might be easier to maintain
patches on our side.

No EMERGE_DEFAULTCATEGORY has been replaced by specific branches in the
git repository. So if you want to build KDE 4.7, you checkout kde-4.7
branch of emerge and start building.
