I agree and i don't think that mingw integrates nicely into VC, but I 
never tried that. Actually are there any drawbacks if you mix different 
compilers? Then it would come down again to use msvc when it is clearly 
supported upstream and use mingw for everything else, like it is now if 
I'm not mistaken.
