emerge --update behavior

the correct thing would be:
emerge --update foo --update bar
There would be no way to simply update only one package.
To make it more usable I am planning an option -R which will then result in:
emerge -R --update foo bar
being equivalent to
emerge --update foo
emerge --update bar
