kde4d.exe crashs everytime

Hi,

everytime i start a kde program (it doesnt matter which one), the kde4d.exe is 
started and shortly after starting it crashs (windows detected failure, 
failure report dialog etc.).

I am using win xp with sp3 installed (sp2 did have this problem too).
Got a second pc with vista which does not show this problem.

Any hints about this?
