The problem is not kde by itself but the 3rd party libs. Especially the ones only compilable with mingw. And you will not gain much wich is worth the trouble.

I posed this question a while back and it seemed there were none. Qt
compiles and runs flawlessly under 64-bit (run emerge in a Windows SDK
shell configured for 64-bit), but I didn't try KDE. I can't think of
too many reasons it wouldn't work, the only reason I haven't tried 4.1
was time.
