libssleay32d.a missing from openssl package

In the installer I have openssl 0.9.8g-1, 0.9.8e, 0.9.8e-2 and
0.9.8e-3 marked as installed. What is the procedure to install the
latest openssl, remove them all and reinstall 0.9.8e-3?
