Hello. http://chehrlic.blogspot.com/ motivated me to run KDE Install
for Windows and with some help from SaroEngels on IRC I got some apps
running on Windows! KStars and KMahjongg!

I couldn't find any information about doing this anywhere outside
chehrlic's blog, so I created
http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/KDE_on_Windows/Running
and linked to it from the parent.
I hope that's OK, feel free to delete if it's
premature/incorrect/out-of-place.

I ran into a lot of problems, I put them in the Discussion page
http://techbase.kde.org/Talk:Projects/KDE_on_Windows/Running

A few are in the earlier thread "some issue with kdelibs-beta4-3.95.1":

1. Adding KDEDIRS=C:\KDE4 helped me with IO, as Mr. Habacker found.

Mr. Ehrlicher wrote:
> kde4/bin is not in the PATH and/or kbuildsycoca4.exe is not there.

2. Following a blog comment I have C:\KDE4\lib in my PATH. Should I
also/instead have C:\KDE4\bin in my PATH?

3. I found running kbuildsycoca4 by hand avoided okular and KStars crashing.

Should 1,2 & 3 go in the Running instructions?

Is there a list of known issues with current KDE4 on Windows?

I looked at bugs.kde.org. Searching for op_sys=MS+Windows shows only
five open bugs on Windows. Ship it ;-) Am I querying the wrong way?

I could paste the rest of the problems I encountered from the Discussion
page in here, or I could file a bug for each one, or I could do nothing.
Let me know what would help the project.

Thanks for your work, I can't imagine how hard it must have been to get
this far with a Windows port.
