Hi,

on http://download.cegit.de/kde-windows/kde/single/ an alpha 2 snapshot
release of kdelibs, kdepimlibs and kdebase is available.

This packages could be downloaded and installed easy by using the kdewin
installer located at http://download.cegit.de/kde-windows/installer/*

Please note that this release reflects the recent svn state and may only
work partial.

*To use this release install the listed package and their dependencies
(they should be selected for install by default). Then open a command
shell and set the **environment as

set PATH=<kdewin-install-root>\bin;<kdewin-install-root>\lib;%PATH%
set KDEDIRS <kdewin-install-root>

*important*: for KDEDIRS use / as path delimiter not \

c:\>start klauncher
c:\>start kded4
c:\>start knotify4

now you can start applications like

kwrite

or

konqueror

Because debug messages printed on the console are not shown in non
console application and console applications running hidden all debug
output is send to the win32 function OutputDebugString. Debug message
could be displayed with the sysinternals DebugView tool from
http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/DebugView.zip or by the
installer. In the second case after installing you can run

c:\><kdewin-install-root>/DbgView

to display all messages.

To switch specific debug message on or off, run

c:\>kdebugdialog

Please report any problems to this list or patch and recompile installed
components with or without debug informations by yourself to fix issues.
In this case send a patch to this list or submit this patch to kde svn
directly if you have an svn account.

Ralf
