Hi,

fyi: Starting tomorrow, we (Jan, Bjoern and me) will do some user
interviews and usability testing on file managers. We want to learn how
and for what purpose people use their file manager, which views they use
for which tasks, if they switch views at all, etc.

We'll first test people on the file manager they are used to (mostly
Windows Explorer, I presume) to identify their behaviour in a well-known
environment. Later, we'll perform similar tests with Konqueror.

The goal is to form suggestions for:
- - Default icon sizes
- - Default views
- - Arrangement of views on the toolbar, shortcuts
- - Should the view adjust to the contents of the folder?
- - Is the meta bar useful? How can it be improved?
- - Are embedded previews appreciated?
- - etc etc etc

Greetings,
/el
