Some useful commands for debugging Nepomuk stuff -

$ nepomukctl status -> Tells you if nepomuk is running
$ nepomukctl restart -> Restarting stuff seems to always help :)

And maybe you want to enable all debug messages via kdebugdialog when 
debugging stuff.
