Yeah there are certainly these down sides to shipping it.  From our
view of support the important question is will an unmaintained Kopete
(but with bits like libmsn maintained) be better or worse than a few
months of maintinance that KDE Telepathy 0.3 or 0.4 will have (but
with the entire Telepathy backend maintained for 5 years by Ubuntu).
